Politicians, artists and other personalities used social networks to pay tribute and mourn the death of Erasmos Carlos this Tuesday (22) at the age of 81 in Rio de Janeiro. President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was one of those who remembered the time of Tremendão in Jovem Guarda.
Erasmo Carlos, far beyond Jovem Guarda, was an extremely talented singer and composer, author of many of the songs that most moved Brazilians in recent decades. Tremendão, friend of faith, brother comrade, sang love, the strength of women and concern for the environment.

Marisa Monte paid her last tribute to the artist on her Twitter profile and recalled another of Erasmo’s nicknames: Gentle Giant.

The artistic director of TV Globo, Boninho, used his Instagram profile to honor the artist.
The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD), recalled that in addition to being from Rio, Tremendão was a Vasco fan like him. “It marked an entire generation”, said the politician.
