Politicians, artists and other personalities pay homage to Erasmo Carlos

Politicians, artists and other personalities used social networks to pay tribute and mourn the death of Erasmos Carlos this Tuesday (22) at the age of 81 in Rio de Janeiro. President-elect Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva was one of those who remembered the time of Tremendão in Jovem Guarda.

Marisa Monte paid her last tribute to the artist on her Twitter profile and recalled another of Erasmo’s nicknames: Gentle Giant.

The artistic director of TV Globo, Boninho, used his Instagram profile to honor the artist.

The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (PSD), recalled that in addition to being from Rio, Tremendão was a Vasco fan like him. “It marked an entire generation”, said the politician.

Former presidential candidate, Ciro Gomes, also paid tribute to the artist on his official Twitter profile.

The official profile of Palmeiras also spoke of the artist’s departure and recalled the day he handed over the “Tremendão” hat to a fan of the São Paulo team.

Another São Paulo team that mourned Erasmo’s death was Corinthians and also used their Twitter profile to honor him.
