On Tuesday afternoon (25), the Military Police seized around a ton of marijuana, which was hidden in a truck loaded with diapers, and was destined for the capital of São Paulo.
The seizure occurred on the Engenheiro João Baptista Cabral Rennó highway, in Santa Cruz do Rio Pardo, 345 kilometers from the capital of São Paulo.
According to the corporation, the shipment left Maringá, Paraná, and was destined for the city of São Paulo.
Agents from the 2nd Highway Police Battalion (BPRv) were returning from another incident when they noticed the suspicious truck in the yard of a gas station. As they approached, the passenger in the vehicle showed signs of nervousness, which aroused suspicion.
Then, during the inspection, several boxes containing marijuana, cell phones without receipts, and electronic cigarettes were found among the shipment of diapers.
A sniffer dog named Grey, from the Military Highway Police kennel, helped check the entire load.
The two men, who introduced themselves as cousins, were arrested in the act and taken to the Federal Police in Marília, where the case was presented. The total amount of narcotics will still be counted, according to the PM.
