The photos of two people accused of participating in a financial pyramid scheme, which caused losses to at least a thousand investors, were published by Disque Denúncia, this Thursday (23).
The objective is to obtain information that leads to the location and arrest of Anderson Almeida de Azevedo Júnior, aged 31, who, according to the civil police, worked as director of New Business at the company Atomx. Mabia Torres de Almeida, 32, is appointed as the company’s Marketing Director.
In total, the Public Ministry of Rio de Janeiro indicted 15 people for the crimes of armed criminal organization, embezzlement, crime against the popular economy and money laundering.
Six arrest warrants were issued by the courts and four have already been served this Thursday. Among those arrested is André Felipe de Oliveira Silva, identified as leader of the armed criminal organization.
According to investigations, the company Atomx — which later became Atrion Invest —, based in Niterói, in the metropolitan region of Rio, promised fixed monthly gains of 3% to 16%, in the form of income generated from “cryptocurrency traders”. .
It was found that Atomx had an unsustainable model in which it recruited new people, who made deposits as an initial investment. This amount was used to pay profits promised to old customers.
According to customer narratives, deposits were made over a specified period of time, without the possibility of withdrawal. However, in 2022, the company reportedly stopped paying its customers, who went to the police.
The investigations also demonstrate that, although the contracts offered by Atomx were characterized by a Collective Investment Contract, those investigated did not have authorization from the Securities and Exchange Commission (CVM), nor were the companies authorized to invest third-party values.
