The Military Highway Police seized about 22,000 liters of oil products, which were stolen from a duct of a state company at dawn on Tuesday (22). The theft was held in a stretch that passes through the municipality of Jambeiro, in the region of São José dos Campos.
The vehicle was approached on the Olavo Vieira Vilela road, heading towards the city of Paulínia, where the fuel would be discharged. The 39 -year -old truck driver was arrested in the action. Also according to the police, the crime involved, in addition to the suspect, two other cronies that, so far, were not found.
According to the police report, the road police were fired by the company, which detected a pressure drop in one of the ducts, indicating that the fuel was being stolen. Based on the information, a team from PM Highway found the trailer that carried the material.
The Civil Police are investigating whether the gang is involved in similar criminal actions that took place last month in the region. The police authority requested the investigation at the crime scene. The driver will answer for qualified theft and criminal association, remaining available to the court.
The cargo, valued at about $ 70,000, was returned to the company.
