The Civil Police concluded, during the afternoon of this Monday (1st), the inspection of part of the cave that collapsed during firefighters training in Altinópolis (SP). Upon completion, the report should be ready in ten days.
According to the delegate responsible for investigations, Rodrigo Pato, the experts were on site on Sunday (31), hours after the accident, and collected enough information to prepare the report that will point out the causes of the incident.
The landslide happened last Sunday (31) and caused the death of nine people. Six of them were buried on Monday (1), in Batatais (SP).
Of the 28 people involved in the rescue course that was held at the scene at the time of the accident, 18 people were not injured and one was rescued. According to the corporation, 75 firefighters and 20 vehicles were engaged during 18 hours of rescue.
Seven victims were rescued with the help of the Military Police’s Águia helicopter. Two others were found later in the night and removed from the rubble.
