The Civil Police arrested a Colombian suspected of being involved in the confusion that resulted in the deaths of two Atletico Nacional fans, after a game against Internacional, in Porto Alegre, at dawn on Friday (11).
The 33 -year -old man was arrested in the act at the bus station of the state capital. According to police reports, released this morning (15) at a press conference, at the time of prison, he was trying to board a bus to Sao Paulo.
The suspect is a member of an organized crowd and was charged with qualified murder, from images collected by the police and testimonials of witnesses. He was identified as one of the participants of the death of Victor Manuel Velásquez Cartagena, 27. Cartagena was taken to the Emergency Room Hospital, but could not resist and died on Friday night.
Another fan was killed during the confusion: Alejandro Lopera Zuluaga, also 27 years old. Police said Cartagena would have attacked Zuluaga to stab wounds before being persecuted and murdered by the group of fans.
According to police, other Colombians suspected of involvement in the crime are being monitored.
