On the morning of Tuesday (29), a military policeman was arrested under the suspicion of participation in a triple homicide in the Pirajá neighborhood of Salvador on February 23.
At the suspect’s residence, Welson Wagner dos Santos Mesquita, 37, housed in the 9th Independent Company (CIPM/Pirajá), the Civil Police found firearms, various ammunition, a motorcycle and other items that point to crime.
The victims were identified as Eric Santana Carvalho de Araújo, Leonardo de Aquino and Eric Santana de Jesus, all executed “coldly”, according to police. A fourth man managed to survive the attack after taking refuge in a car and has already given testimony, and gave details about the dynamics of the criminal action.
Investigations also indicate that the triple homicide was motivated by a previous fight between the military police and the victims, at a “seawall” party. The suspect, using a motorcycle with tampered plaque, would have surprised the four men and fired multiple, making it impossible for any defense reaction.
The operation of the Homicide Police Station that ended with the arrest of the PM was supported by the Military Police and the Secretariat of Public Security (SSP). The policeman remains in judicial custody, while the authorities continue to investigate to identify other possible involved in this crime.
