Flight LA3303 (Florianópolis–São Paulo/Guarulhos) was interrupted last Friday (15) after the aircraft had problems with the turbine. Sparks were reported but did not catch fire.
The aircraft was scheduled to fly at 18:35, Brasília time. With the interruption, all passengers were relocated on the LA3303 that left early this Saturday (16) at 00:23 and landed at the destination at 1:23.
Despite the scare, no one was hurt. In a press release, Latam stated that it “followed the process in complete safety” and that it provided assistance to passengers.

“LATAM Brasil clarifies that the aircraft of flight LA3303 (Florianópolis-São Paulo/Guarulhos), scheduled to take off at 6:35 pm this Friday (15), interrupted its takeoff procedure while still on the ground, in complete safety, after detecting high temperature particulate release from engine exhaust. There was no emission of fire and no need to activate the extinguishing system of the aircraft, which will undergo maintenance.
Passengers were re-accommodated on the LA3303, which took off in the early hours of Saturday (16), at 00:23 and landed at the destination at 1:23 am, and received all the necessary assistance, such as food, accommodation for passengers with a connection in Guarulhos and transport at the destination. The company reiterates that it follows the strictest standards, complying with the regulations of Brazilian and international authorities. Finally, it emphasizes that safety is an essential value and that all its decisions aim to guarantee a safe operation.”
