Pilot Marcelo Noronha Muniz, 58, who was missing after his aircraft had a crash during a flight in the Oriximiná region, in western Pará, was found dead by the Fire Department on the morning of Tuesday (22) . The information was confirmed by the mayor of Oriximiná, José William Siqueira.
Marcelo Noronha has been missing in the heart of the Amazon since last Wednesday (16). According to information from the police report registered by Marcelo’s son, the pilot took off from the trumpet track to another mining in the region, with his PT-IVN registration plane.
About ten minutes after takeoff, he would have informed a crash in the aircraft and since then was no longer located. Marcelo was with a cell phone and an antenna Starlink.
The Brazilian Air Force (FAB), through the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA), said that it worked in the search. Oriximiná City Hall also mobilized efforts to find the pilot.
A team of brigade members sent by Mayor Fonseca was already in the forest zone near the place where Marcelo sent the last messages via the internet and radio.
In addition to the brigade members, Oriximiná Protection and Civil Defense agents participated in the search, with the support of the Santarém Fire Department and experienced residents in the region.
