THE Robert Menendez and his wife are facing American justice, as they are accused of were financed by entrepreneursin order to promote their interests.
US authorities searched their home and found gold bars, money and a luxury car – which they allegedly received from the businessmen – and released related photos.
According to what has become known, the couple is accused of:
- Conspiracy to commit bribery
- Conspiracy to commit fraud
- Conspiracy to commit extortion
It is noted that this is not the first time that the senator is facing federal justice.
Cuban-born Robert Menendez, born 69 years ago in New York, is a veteran of Washington politics. Elected with the Democrats representing New Jersey in the House of Representatives from 1993 to 2006 and then in the Senate, he is one of the most influential voices on diplomatic matters in the American capital.
