Pfizer vaccine given to 64.6% of Belgians who have been vaccinated to date

The Pfizer / Biontech vaccine has been administered to 64.6% of Belgians who have been vaccinated to date, according to data from the Scientific Institute for Public Health, Sciensano, published by the French-language newspaper LeSoir.

Nearly two-thirds of Belgians who have already received a first dose have been vaccinated with Pfizer (more than 2.5 million people). 28% received the AstraZeneca vaccine, 6% the Moderna vaccine and only 0.8% received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

To date, 43.3% of the adult population in Belgium has received the first dose of the covid19 vaccine, amounting to 3,975,576 people. The second dose vaccinated 15.2% of the adult population, ie 1,398,134 people.

In the week between 9-14 May, the daily average case in Belgium is 2,100, down 30.8% from the previous seven days. The number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants is 312.7 and the positivity rate is 5.8%. The daily test average last week was 42,100.
