PF Mira gang that sold false consultancies and deceived customers

The IRS, together with the Federal Police, launched on Thursday (24) the Operation “Obsidian”, which aimed a criminal organization that sold false consultancies and instructed customers to compensate for non-existent tax credits. The warrants were served in the state capital and in cities such as Arujá, Bragança Paulista and Guaratinguetá.

The group, structured in nuclei with defined functions, would have created a fintech to move the money and make it difficult to track.

The fraud began with manufactured “coverage stories” that distorted concepts of tax legislation.

Once hired, the false consultancy requested that the taxpayer grant an electronic power of attorney in E-CAC to people used as “oranges”.

According to an investigation, these people entered fictitious data on compensation statements that were sent electronically to the IRS on behalf of the contractor.

False consultancy also charged a fee for the service, which ranged from 30 to 70% of the amount of taxes compensated fraudulently. These values ​​were used for the acquisition of luxury goods boasting on the suspects’ social networks.

During the fulfillment of one of the warrants, the revenue seized several luxury watches and amounts in cash.

According to the Federal Police, the victims of the blows only learned of the fraudulent procedures when they received the notification of registration of debts in the Union’s active debt.

The scope of the fraud reaches tax compensations of 496 taxpayers from 173 cities, in 21 states of all regions of the country, in the amount of R $ 451,571,960.47.

About 26 federal taxpayers and fiber-tax analysts, and 50 federal police officers, are serving search and seizure warrants.

Those involved in the scheme may be responsible for the crimes of a major estate against the Union, and to participate in a criminal organization. The penalties can exceed 12 years of imprisonment.
