The Federal Police arrested, at dawn on Wednesday (26), a trucker who transported approximately 300 kg of marijuana and 30 kg of skunk hidden in a rice load .
The approach took place on the Presidente Dutra Highway, at the time of Piraí (RJ), during an operation of the Federal Police (DRE/RJ) narcotic police station aimed at combating drug trafficking during the carnival period.
The driver, who made the São Paulo-Rio de Janeiro route, was arrested in the act for the crime of interstate trafficking. The action was supported by sniffer dogs, who helped inspect the vehicle.
According to the PF, the drug would be distributed in a community controlled by a criminal faction in the north of Rio.
The driver, the vehicle and the drugs were taken to the PF Regional Superintendence in Rio de Janeiro to draw up the arrest author in the act.
After this, the prisoner was sent to the State Prison System, where he will remain available to the court and will be responsible for the crime, with a penalty that he may exceed 20 years of imprisonment in closed regime.
Skunk is a variation of high THC marijuana, the main psychoactive component of the plant. Cultivated in greenhouses with advanced genetic improvement techniques, it has more powerful and lasting effect than ordinary marijuana, being highly valued in drug trafficking.
