This Wednesday morning (28), the Federal Police launched the “No Poison” operation, which investigates a group active in the smuggling of pesticides from Argentina to Brazil.
In the action, federal police officers carry out four search and seizure warrants in the municipality of Venâncio Aires (RS). The searches are carried out in a rural area, in a commercial establishment and in three houses.
The investigation began in November 2021 with the arrest in the act of two people who were transporting 260 liters of pesticides of foreign origin, illegally imported, on Rodovia BR-386, in Passo Fundo.
The seizure was the starting point for this almost three-year investigation, to uncover this criminal scheme of clandestine supply of pesticides in the region of Venâncio Aires, a city between Porto Alegre and Santa Maria (RS).
Based on this seizure, the PF identified receivers and the route of the pesticide from Argentina to the city of Rio Grande do Sul.
