The Federal Police (PF), in joint action with the Brazilian Navy, seized last Tuesday (2) 212 kilos of cocaine in an operation in the port of Santos (SP).
The drugs were hidden on a freighter waiting to head to Germany. The ship was selected for inspection based on Federal Police risk and intelligence criteria.
According to the Navy, the eight packages of cocaine were hidden in the vessel's “sea box”, an opening located below the waterline, which serves to supply water to cool the engines and power the firefighting system. During the inspection, the action of Navy and federal police divers was necessary.
The drug was seized and the investigation into the case will be carried out by the Santos Federal Police Station. So far, no one has been arrested.

Guarantee of Law and Order
Since November last year, the port of Santos has been part of a Law and Order Guarantee (GLO) operation announced by the Government as a way to combat organized crime.
In addition to Santos, the ports of Rio de Janeiro and Itaguaí (RJ), and the international airports of Galeão, in Rio, and Guarulhos, in São Paulo, are in the GLO.
