Pentagon announces that Ukraine received fighter jets to strengthen fleet

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby announced on Tuesday (19), without further details, that Ukraine received fighter jets and spare parts to strengthen its air fleet.

“I would just say, without going into the details of what other countries have shipped, that they have received additional aircraft and spare parts to be able to increase the size of the fleet,” Kirby said.

According to the analyst of International CNN Lourival Sant’Anna, would be the MiG-29 fighters that Poland had previously offered.

Lourival explains that the Russians have not yet started the main battles in Donbass, which require coordination, which they have not yet shown in the war period. It would be necessary to create a perimeter in the region, and although it is only in eastern Ukraine, the territory corresponds to 1/4 of the country.

“So, there are advanced troops there who are in a spirit of war and they have high morale on the part of the Russians. That’s not the majority. It’s that Russian advance troop that’s over there in eastern Ukraine. But they will have immense difficulty in closing that perimeter and severing that line of communication between the Ukrainian forces that are in the east and the rest in the midwest,” he exposes.

On the other hand, the West will have immense difficulty in delivering the supplies that are being destined for Ukraine. This is because at the current stage of the conflict, you need to cross the entire Ukrainian territory until you reach the east. We are talking about 700 to 800 kilometers, depending on the starting point.

“Then the war becomes much more complex. It always is when it’s a turf war, a land war, a dominance war and it’s going to be really bloody. If we thought it was too bloody, from now on we will see things much more difficult, like the First World War”, he concludes.
