The actor Penn Badgley which starred in the series “You” as Joe Goldberg, recalled another iconic role of his career: the young man Dan Humphrey in “Gossip Girl” .
“It was a fight … When you make a movie, you do it once, do your best and then move on. When you do a television show, you do it constantly because of the nature of the program,” he said during a participation in the Podcast Call Her Daddy.
Badgley said it was hard to separate the character from the teenage series, which was aired between 2007 and 2012, real -life.
“I was 20, 21, 22, so I had no emotional maturity to understand how to differentiate myself in terms of self -esteem,” he said. “What people seemed to think of Dan seemed to be what they thought of me.”
