“Pay the bill of these idiots” – Georgia Meloni’s anger at her countrymen who did not pay in a restaurant in Albania

The bill of Italian… thugs in an Albanian restaurant was arranged to be paid by Georgia Meloni. Italy’s prime minister has made sure an Albanian businessman is compensated after a group of her compatriots left his tavern without paying.

When the news that the group of Italians left a restaurant in the city of Berat without paying went viral in the Albanian media, Meloni mobilizedas stated by Edi Rama in the newspaper La Stampa.

“Go and pay these idiots’ bill, please”Meloni told the Italian ambassador to Albania, according to Rama.

Giorgia Meloni is among the growing number of Italians who have chosen her Albania for their summer vacation this year. She and her family spent a few days this week in the country at the invitation of Prime Minister Edi Rama, as well the country experienced a tourism boom this summer, attracting visitors with its white-sand beaches and low prices compared to the rest of Europe.

Francesco Lollobrigida, her Minister of Agriculture Italy and Meloni’s son-in-law who was with her in Italy, stated that he was matter of national pride.

He offered to pay the bill. The ambassador was on his way back to Tirana and was available. A few crooks cannot disgrace a nation of honest people“, he said.

Edi Rama said in a TV interview this week that Albania expects 500,000 visitors from Italy this year. Many Italians have avoided domestic travel this year due to high prices and they traveled to Albania where accommodation and beach facilities are cheaper.
