Paul McCarney: see the traffic plan for the artist’s last show in Brazil

After playing eight shows in Brazil and visiting Brasília, Curitiba, Belo Horizonte and São Paulo, former Beatle Paul McCartney will make his last performance in the country this Saturday (16), at 9pm, in Rio de Janeiro. The performance also ends this year’s “Got Back” tour.

A special security and traffic scheme was set up for the show in the capital of Rio de Janeiro.

Patrolling around Maracanã will be reinforced with men from the battalion responsible for the area, in addition to Shoque and the group specialized in Special Rondas and Crowd Control (Recom). The PMs will be stationed at strategic points to ensure security near the stadium.

The traffic operation will involve 65 people, including CET-Rio agents and contracted traffic supporters, in addition to nine operational vehicles and 14 motorcycles. 13 variable message boards will also be used to provide information about closure times and alternative routes.

CET-Rio teams will be operating from the beginning of Saturday on the region’s main roads. However, the operation will be intensified from 2pm. The agents will be on the main routes, at intersections and crossings, guiding pedestrians, drivers and repressing irregularities.

According to the city hall, traffic conditions will be monitored and, if necessary, the timing of traffic lights will be adjusted to improve traffic flow. Drivers are recommended to avoid passing through the Maracanã region during closure times, opting for alternative routes.

Vehicle access for residents surrounding the stadium will be exclusively via Paula Sousa Avenue and Professor Eurico Rabelo Street, upon presentation of proof of residence.
