Parades in Sapucaí still have around 20% of tickets available

The samba world is already counting down to the 2022 Carnival samba school parades at Marquês de Sapucaí. Twenty days before the event, there are still 20% of the tickets for bleachers and a few seats.

The technical rehearsals, which precede the day of the event, will end on the 10th of April, with an audience of around 40 thousand people expected to attend Unidos de Viradouro, current champion of the Carioca Carnival. On the same day, the light and sound test will be carried out on the avenue and the washing of the track will be carried out. Until then, the 12 associations of the special group make the last technical adjustments before the big day.

On Friday, April 22, the schools Imperatriz Leopoldinense, Mangueira, Salgueiro, São Clemente, Viradouro and Beija-Flor will parade. On Saturday, the 23rd, it is the turn of Paraíso do Tuiuti, Portela, Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel, Unidos da Tijuca, Grande Rio and Vila Isabel.

The parade of champions is scheduled for April 30.

For the president of Liesa, Jorge Perligeiro, this will be the carnival of reunion and redemption. “We are working at full speed. The schools are ready to enter the avenue, now fine-tuning the last details that, with the technical tests, need to be adjusted. In addition, we are sure that we will have a great parade, it will be, without a doubt, the Carnival of redemption, of the reunion. We have seen this every Sunday, with the stands full and the audience singing and participating in rehearsals”, celebrates Jorge Perlingeiro, president of the Independent League of Samba Schools (Liesa).

According to Liesa, the purchase can be made by phone (21 3190-2115). The purchase of tickets for special bleachers and individual chairs can be done with PIX or with credit cards on the website https://carnavaldorio.totalacesso.com/. The parades take place on April 20, 21, 22 and 23.

Accommodation, bars and restaurants sectors are optimistic

The expectation is that the occupancy rate of hotels in the capital of Rio de Janeiro will reach 85% during the Tiradentes holiday, according to the president of the Union of Accommodation Means of the Municipality of Rio de Janeiro (Hotels Rio). The president of the Union of Bars and Restaurants of Rio de Janeiro (SindRio), Fernando Blower, says that although the city does not receive the same number of visitors, as in the official period of carnival, the expectation is that the revenue will be similar to the of a regular holiday.

“I think it will be very good, especially for street bars that will be impacted in the surroundings of places, where there is eventually a carnival movement. But it certainly won’t be the same movement we’ve had at other times.”
