Ardinino told about this in an interview with the presenter of The Wolf of All Streets Podkasta Scott Melker. According to Ardoino, the Bitcoin network will be a “natural habitat” for the USDT. USDT “has roots” in Bitcoin, as the developers launched the first stablecoins in the OMNI protocol in the first cryptocurrency network. However, the issuer went beyond the network, stopping USDT output on Omni due to low demand. Nevertheless, Stablecoin will soon return to the Bitcoin network thanks to integration, Ardoino noted.
At the end of January, Lightning Labs announced partnership with Tether in integrating USDT into the basic level of bitcoin and Lightning Network. Integration is implemented on the basis of the Taproot Assets protocol from Lightning Labs.
According to Ardoino, Lightning Network is the best place for large transactions using USDT stablecoins. He explained that some second -level solutions, especially for the Ethereum network, have few validators in the chain or do not even have them, which complicates the execution of transactions. However, the Lightning single -rating network uses nodes for processing transactions, which greatly simplifies their conduct.
Tether general director also emphasized the decentralized character of Lightning in comparison with other chains. Given that the network uses payment channels to make transactions inside and outside the chain, channel users can remain anonymous, unlike the second level of the Ethereum, where each validator has access to all individual data in the blockchain.
In February, Ardoino suggested that in the long run, the USDT stablecoin would become useless, since the whole world will switch to bitcoin. Later, the head of Tether proposed selling solar energy for USDT or bitcoins by installing solar panels in Africa to recharge the batteries.
