One Federal Judge in New York denied This Friday (18) the Request for the postponement of Sean “Diddy” Combs Sex Trafficking For two months, after their lawyers request more time to prepare the defense.
The magistrate Arun Subramanian stated that the jury team will start on May 5, as scheduled.
“It is unclear because there is not enough time to prepare,” the judge told Comb lawyers on Friday after two additional accusations were included in the case earlier this month. Prosecutors had spoken out against the request for the postponement of the trial.
Combs, 55, declared innocent of the five accusations of sexual trafficking, transportation for prostitution purposes and extortion conspiracy (or criminal association), which prosecutors claim to have occurred over two decades.
He has been detained in a federal prison in New York City since his arrest in September last year.
Prosecutors accuse Combs and others to coerce at least three women to perform sexual acts with him and, in some cases, with male companions.
The episodes, in which women were allegedly drugs and forced to have sex for days, became known as “Freak Offs”. Authorities claim that Combs recorded some of these acts and controlled victims with promises of financial and professional opportunities, as well as threats of violence and other types of intimidation.
