Oscar 2024: see five nominated films that are directed by women

International Women's Day is celebrated annually on March 8th. To celebrate the date, taking advantage of the Oscars approaching, the CNN listed five films competing for the award that were directed by women. See below.

  • Anatomy of a Fall, by Justine Triet

A man is found dead in the snow outside the isolated cabin where he lived with his family. The investigation concluded that it was a “suspicious death”. The widow is indicted and tried for her husband's death.

  • Barbie, by Greta Gerwig

A Barbie leaves Barbieland after showing defects and goes to the human world alongside Ken to try to fix herself. Once there, Ken learns about patriarchy and tries to bring this concept to the pink world of Barbies while the protagonist deals with deep situations.

  • The infinite memory, by Maite Alberdi

When will the Oscars 2024 take place?

The 96th Oscar ceremony is scheduled for March 10, at 8 pm, at the Dolby Theater, in Los Angeles, in the United States. In Brazil, the award ceremony will be broadcast simultaneously on TNT within linear TV programming, and in Max in streaming.
