Operation Mira traffickers operating in 11 states of the country

A criminal group investigated by Interstate drug trafficking, money laundering and homicides He was the target of Operation Kéfale, launched on Tuesday morning (15) by the Integrated Force to Combat Organized Crime (Ficco).

According to police, one of the locations fueled with narcotics was the beach of Porto de Galinhas, one of the main tourist destinations of Pernambuco.

More than 400 agents of the Federal, Military, Criminal and National Secretariat of Policies were mobilized to comply with 60 pre -trial detention warrants and 49 search and seizure in 11 Brazilian states. The court orders were issued by the 1st Criminal Court of the District of Ipojuca (PE).

The purpose of the operation is to stop the performance of the criminal organization, gather further evidence of illegal activities and hold responsible those involved.

Police diligence occurred in the states of Pernambuco, Paraíba, Rio Grande do Norte, Sergipe, Piauí, Sao Paulo, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul, Paraná, Tocantins and Rondônia.

According to the investigations, the gang leaders were spread across several states and commanded violent actions in areas controlled by the faction. The drug trafficking scheme had international routes and had as distribution center the Porto de Galinhas region, with branches in Recife and the Metropolitan Region.

The partial balance of the operation is due to be released later this Tuesday (15).
