Rainfall in hydroelectric reservoirs in the South and Southeast/Midwest submarkets should be less intense in October than previously expected, but still above the long-term average, according to projections by the National Electric System Operator (ONS) released this Friday. thursday (21).
The agency started to expect for this month rains equivalent to 111% of the historical average in the Southeast/Midwest, compared to 116% predicted in the previous week.
In the South, the forecast of rain fell to 158% of the average, compared to 185% estimated last week.
The agency also reduced its forecast of rainfall for the Northeast (60%, compared to 66%), while raising the forecast for the North (85%, compared to 82%).
Regarding the reservoirs of the plants, the expectation is that the Southeast/Midwest, the main submarket of the country, will end the month of October with 50.4% of capacity, compared to 50.9% expected a week ago.
For the electric energy load, the ONS maintained the forecast of an increase of 0.5% in October compared to the same month of 2021.
