President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) said, this Friday (14th), that only countries that are not defending the war in Ukraine could create a commission to discuss the end of the conflict.
“Only those who are not defending the war can create a commission of countries and discuss the end of this war. It takes patience to talk with the President of Russia, it takes patience to talk to the President of Ukraine,” he said.
Lula also stated that it is necessary to convince the countries that supply arms to stop. In his assessment, both countries are struggling to make decisions.
“But it is necessary, above all, to convince the countries that are supplying arms and encouraging the war to stop… I think we are in a situation where I think both countries are struggling to make decisions. If the two countries are having problems making decisions, I think it is necessary for third countries, which maintain good relations with the two, to create conditions for us to have peace”, he said.
The statements were made during the president’s trip to China.

This Friday (14), Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) and Chinese Xi Jinping signed 15 agreements involving the governments of both countries.
In addition, another 20 commercial agreements were signed between companies and public entities in Brazil and China. Part of the agreements had already been anticipated by the CNN Caio Junqueira.
Among the measures between the governments is a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Finance of China to promote cooperation and collaboration on projects of mutual interest, such as public-private partnerships (PPPs), infrastructure and fundraising.
The scheduled meeting between Lula and Xi Jinping at the Great Palace of the People, seat of the Chinese government, lasted much longer than the 15 minutes scheduled, which was seen as a positive sign by the Brazilian chancellery.
The meeting between the leaders of Brazil and China lasted over an hour. For the country’s diplomatic representatives, this was proof that Lula and Xi had a lot to discuss, and they did not waste this opportunity.
The agenda also included a joint declaration released after the meeting between the leaders in which Brazil reiterates that it considers Taiwan as “an inseparable part of Chinese territory”.
