Dominique Crenn the first and only female chef to earn three Michelin stars in the United States, returns to her homeland to head up a restaurant in Paris .
Opened in early July, the Golden Poppy is the newest venture by the French chef, who, in Cidade Luz, bets on a creative and seasonal menu focused on vegetables and seafood.
The restaurant is part of the newly opened La Fantaisie luxury boutique hotel with 63 rooms and 10 suites in the Faubourg-Montmartre region, in the 9th arrondissement.
Marked by green and yellow tones and a playful tapestry, the restaurant’s atmosphere is inspired by an old greenhouse and filled with natural light, which enters through an esplanade that leads to the garden and also through the glass roof.
California-style menu
The relaxed atmosphere continues on the menu, made to be shared and influenced by the diversity of California, where the chef currently lives and where she opened the Atelier Crenn, his three Michelin-star restaurant in San Francisco.
Golden Poppy’s current menu has both raw and cured starters, such as cured tuna tartare (€18); sea bass ceviche with pea and tiger milk (€24; R$126) and banana pancakes with smoked caviar (€32; R$168).
