Only 22% of Brazilians intend to switch to 5G in the next 12 months, with the arrival of the technology. This is what a survey carried out by IDC in Latin America points out. The study heard over 3,000 people in the region, including 723 Brazilians.
Respondents who still don’t know but believe they will migrate correspond to 42%, while the rest said they are not sure or will not make the switch to the new technology.
“Among those who are not interested in replacing the plan, the main justifications are related to their current devices, as 39% are happy with their non-tech-enabled devices and 34% have recently changed their smartphone and would have to change one more time. ”, said Luciano Saboia, telecoms research and consulting manager at IDC Brazil.
“For 22%, the reason for not upgrading is related to a possible additional cost,” he added.
The survey also indicates that 84% of Brazilians believe that technology will completely transform the way we consume data, while 74% believe it will change the way we work.
