One of the most emotional moments of the Oscars: the embrace of Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan

Of all the events on Oscar night 2023, the reunion of Harrison Ford and Ke Huy Quan it was without a doubt the most exciting.

Just the protagonist of Indiana Jones was in charge of delivering the last prize of the evening, namely the one for the best movieand then called the whole crew of Everything Everywhere All at Once to the stage, the «best film» film which totaled seven statuettes, including also the one for best supporting actor, assigned to Ke Huy Quan.

It was Ke Huy Quan as a child who played the little petty thief Short Round in the 1984 film Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doomnext to Ford.

When Quan took the stage failed to hold back the emotion: went straight to Harrison Ford and, as well as in the famous scene from the film, she embraced it without reservationwith one of those hugs that all fans and spectators in the room and at home they have heard to the depths of their hearts. In the end, Quan also added a kiss on the cheek to Harrison Ford.

A scene that may have gone unnoticed by many in the confusion of the entire film crew on stage, but whose last seconds, caught on cameras, immediately went viral. It’s hard not to compare the hug to the one in the film from 39 years ago.

What the cameras didn’t catch was the moment when Quan approached Ford and they both smiled, pointed at each other and embraced like two old friends reuniting after years apart. Luckily, there are photos and some videos recorded by those who saw it live a moment that will go down in history as one of the most beautiful of these 95 years of ceremonies.
