Samsung has released a major software update for the inexpensive Galaxy A01 smartphone in Russia.

In Russia, Samsung released the Galaxy A01 in February 2020 at a price of 7,990 rubles, at that time it was the cheapest model of the Korean company, but in August the Galaxy A01 Core became available for 5,990 rubles. At the time of release, the Galaxy A01 was installed with the proprietary One UI 2.0 shell with the Android 10 operating system.
A fresh update numbered A015FXXU4BUD8 was the first major update since the release of the smartphone. The firmware brings One UI 3.1 skin based on the Android 11 operating system, as well as the April 2021 Android security update. Android 11 was originally expected to be available for the Samsung Galaxy A01 only in May, but Samsung has released the firmware ahead of schedule.
In addition to the standard innovations of Android 11, the updated One UI 3.1 shell brings a refreshed interface, improved branded applications, including the keyboard and browser, more widgets for the lock screen, and much more.
