Evgenios Trivizas, one of the most beloved and acclaimed authors of children’s literature in Greece and internationally, was born on this day in 1946. At 78 years old, Trivizas has written over 200 books for children and adults, with his works standing out for their imagination, humor and originality. In addition to being a writer, he is also a criminologist, having even been a professor of criminology at the University of Reading in England. One of the main axes running through Triviza’s work is social messages as well as imagination. In a magical way, he manages to create parallel worlds where anything is possible. His fairy tales overflow with unusual characters, such as “Pikos Apikos” in the famous work “Fruitopia”, or “Pink Zebra”, which exemplifies creativity.
