On the first day of work, pilot crashes agricultural plane and burns to death in MT

Pilot Cláudio de Souza Braga, aged 40, died this Thursday (12) after the crash of an agricultural plane on a farm in Nova Monte Verde, around 920 km from Cuiabá. The pilot, known to his friends as Sasa, was making his first flight for the company and was in the training phase.

According to the Military Police, upon arriving at the scene, the military found the aircraft completely destroyed by fire and the pilot’s body charred.

At the scene of the accident were friends of the pilot and the owner of the company for which he had been hired. According to his reports, Braga arrived in the city about a week ago to start work at the company.

The businesswoman also informed that the pilot was still in the training phase and was taking his first flight for the company. She also said that she informed Braga’s family about the accident.

According to the police, the pilot’s documentation and possible service contracts with the company were destroyed in the fire.

The Civil Police were called to carry out procedures to preserve the area and initial investigation. Forensics were on site to gather information that could help in investigating the case.

The Regional Aviation Accident Investigation and Prevention Service (SERIPA VI), a body linked to the Air Force, was also notified and will be responsible for technical investigations to determine the causes of the accident.
