In the establishment of a company with the distinctive title “THALASSIA HOLY ROAD Sole Proprietorship PC” Elefsina Port Authority (OLE) SA proceeded with a unanimous decision of its Board of Directors, for the implementation of the sea interconnection of Elefsina with Piraeus.
The establishment of the company for the Sacred Sea Road concerns the construction of a new sea line, which will connect Elefsina with Piraeus through boats, which will carry out a specially designed interactive program of sea connection – tour – leisure, highlighting the historical points of the route in the waters where the Battle of Salamis took place as well as the archeological site where the Eleusinian Mysteries took place.
The new line will start from the city of Piraeus and will end in Elefsina, joining 7 Municipalities (Piraeus, Keratsini-Drapetsonas, Perama, Haidari, Aspropyrgos, Salamina, Elefsina).
The innovative action is implemented in the framework of the cooperation of O.L.E. SA with Elefsina 2023-Cultural Capital in matters of culture, with the aim of supporting the events that will be held in the land area of the port of Elefsina for the celebrations of the proclamation of the city as European Capital of Culture for 2023. The Holy Shrine under the auspices of the Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy and has as its ultimate goal the cultural – tourist upgrade of the entire region of West Attica with the creation of a permanent institution of pole – development, which will continue to operate after 2023 as a major cultural – tourist attraction.
The inauguration of the Holy Sea Road will be carried out by the Athenian trireme “OLYMPIA” in a glorious ceremony, which is planned to coincide with the beginning of the festive events of Elefsina – Cultural Capital in January 2023.
The newly established company “Thalassia Iera Odos” has the form of a Sole Proprietorship Private Capital Company (Sole Proprietorship PC) based in Elefsina.
According to its Articles of Association, the Company may establish a Committee in which a representative from Elefsina 2023-European Capital of Culture and the Municipalities of Elefsina, Piraeus, Keratsini – Drapetsona, Perama, Salamina, Haidari and Aspropyrgos will participate. The manager of the company is appointed by the respective CEO of OLE. SA or any other person chosen by the decision of the General Meeting of Partners and will not receive any remuneration. For the first corporate year, the management is assigned to the CEO of O.L.E. SA and inspirer of the action Mr. Apostolos Kamarinakis.
“Thalassia Iera Odos” is distinguished for the multifaceted dynamics of utilization in matters of Culture, forming a modern tourist-cultural product, which will be addressed to the passengers of the cruise ships that come to Piraeus during the summer months and to the students of the schools during the winter months. educational trips.

SA has already developed constructive contact with the Ministers of Tourism Mr. Vassilis Kikilias and National Defense Mr. Nikolaos Panagiotopoulos for their participation in this project and for their cooperation in its implementation, while relevant contacts are planned with the Ministers of Culture Ms. Lina Mendoni and Education and Religions Mrs. Niki Kerameos.
