OECD: Decarbonizing the economy will require carbon emission pricing

The chief economist of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Laurence Boone, said this Tuesday (8) that, to ensure the decarbonization of the economy, countries will need to explore a series of instruments, including regulation and fiscal policies.

Among the actions, Boone advocated the pricing of carbon emissions and the use of standardized regulations.

In her view, governments should invest in an infrastructure network that helps reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
