I am very proud to be a woman in nuclear engineering. It is not easy nor is it a simple path to follow, but it is very worth it.

To the young woman, the little girl, the schoolgirl who wants to be an engineer but is having trouble for whatever reason: remember that you are pioneers in this field. I want to be the person who inspires three others to do the same and make powerful decisions. I want to be someone who promotes change in others.

However, Grace has said that after receiving the crown, her life changed completely and not exactly for the better. She used to consider herself a girl nerd and not very popular, because she did not get dates and was criticized for her way of dressing. This changed when the jury recognized her beauty, but, incredibly, it brought her other problems, as her study and work colleagues began to label her as a “hollow” young woman and that she only used her beauty to open up a field.

Fortunately, Grace has managed to handle the situation, ignoring the negative comments and showing that intelligence and beauty can go hand in hand.
