Last Wednesday (8) was “exciting” for Twitter users. Throughout the afternoon, tweeters reported instability on the platform.
Among the main complaints was the impossibility of posting. The social network sent a message: “You have exceeded the daily limit for sending Tweets”.
Another recurring complaint from users was the inability to follow other people. The platform sent the following message: “You cannot follow more people at the moment.”

After the instability, Elon Musk’s social network announced that it will have a limit of 1,500 tweets per month for each free account. But for the relief of tweeters on duty, the restriction of posts will only be valid for API accounts, used mainly by developers.
API accounts are used to develop tools and bots, such as reminders, translators and video downloads. The social network claims that the measure is a way to reduce spam.
The platform also disclosed that free access to the current version of the API by developers ends on February 13.
At the end of the term, professionals will have to spend US$ 100 per month (about R$ 520) to access the “basic paid” level of the Twitter API, according to the Engadget website.
Twitter Blue
Also last Wednesday (8), “Twitter Blue”, a new paid feature on Elon Musk’s platform, arrived in Brazil.
The tool works as a kind of subscription plan and comes with several benefits compared to the free model.
Subscription to the web version of Twitter costs BRL 42 monthly, equivalent to BRL 504 annually. For the Android and iOS versions, the monthly plan is BRL 60, that is, BRL 720 per year.
Check out the main benefits of the paid version:
- Blue Verification Seal – formerly exclusive to celebrities, politicians, journalists and public figures;
- 50% reduction of ads on the platform;
- Publishing long videos;
- Early access to features under development such as editing tweets, using NFT images in your profile picture, and uploading HD videos.
