The eldest daughter of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West, North West 10, starred as Simba in Disney's musical production of “The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl” this weekend.
West performed “I Just Can't Wait to be King” — an original song from the 1994 animated classic — during Disney's live production of the musical on Friday and Saturday.
She received praise from actor Jason Weaver, who voiced young Simba in the original animated film and was also at the event.
“It’s an honor to share the same stage with this young superstar in the making,” Weaver wrote on her Instagram account Saturday. “I'm so PROUD of you, North! You are doing a PHENOMENAL job on this show!”
Weaver was one of several original cast members and performers from the world of “The Lion King” to take the stage over the weekend.
Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, Bradley Gibson and Billy Eichner took the stage, as did star Heather Headley — who played the role of Nala in the first Broadway production of 1998's “Lion King” — and Grammy winner Lebo M.
EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson also took the stage and performed several songs during the event.
In her post, Weaver shared a photo with West, who appears wearing his Simba costume, a kind of preview for those who will watch the show in the special that will premiere on Disney +.
Kim Kardashian also posted a series of behind-the-scenes photos from the event on her Instagram stories on Saturday, like every proud mother.

Daughter of Kardashian and rapper Kanye West, North West already knows Hollywood well even at just 10 years old. She already voiced the role of Mini in the “Paw Patrol” film last year and has performed on stage alongside her father in previous shows.
The live musical “The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl” does not yet have a release date, but will be broadcast on the Disney+ streaming platform.
