Norah Jones surprised people at a London train station on Wednesday (13) by singing her famous hits “Don't Know Why” and “Sunrise”, as well as two songs from her new album “Visions”.
“Visions” was released last Friday (8), and the American singer-songwriter traveled from Paris to St. Pancras International station, in King's Cross, to celebrate.
On the piano donated to the station by Elton John in 2016, Jones played his new songs “Running” and “All This Time” to the delight of passengers and tourists.
“Our station is proud to host public performances, creating an exciting and lively destination for travelers and shoppers,” St Pancras and HS1 Ltd commercial director Wendy Spinks said in a statement.
“We are delighted that Norah Jones has chosen to celebrate her new album with St. Pancras,” she added.
The Grammy-winning song isn't the first to make a surprise appearance at the iconic train terminal.
Alicia Keys played “Empire State of Mind” and “No One” on the same piano in December 2023. Before her, Rod Stewart and Jools Holland, John Legend, Tom Odell and Elton John himself performed for travelers there.
The pianos in the main arcade became part of the railway station's furniture in 2012 and since then public performances have become an institution.
