Nicolas Cage confirmed as protagonist in live-action “Spider-Man Noir”

Nicolas Cage was announced as the protagonist of the live-action “Spider-Man Noir ” during Amazon’s presentation to advertisers this Tuesday (14). The production does not yet have a release date but it was confirmed at the event that it will be broadcast first on the paid channel MGM+ and then on streaming Prime Video .

The actor voiced the character in the animation “Spider-Man into the Spider-Verse”, in which the protagonist teams up with spiders from parallel universes to fight the Kingpin. According to the summary made by the company, the story of “Spider-Man Noir” will be about the protagonist (Cage) in old age having to deal with his superhero past.

“The immensely talented Nicolas Cage is an ideal choice for our new superhero, and the talented production team of Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Amy Pascal and the incredible team at Sony are dedicated to expanding this franchise in the most authentic way possible.” , said Vernon Sanders, head of television at Amazon MGM Studios.

A fourth Spider-Man film is in production, with no release date yet. According to Amy Adams, executive producer at Sony Pictures, the creation was affected by the writers' strike, between May and September 2023.
