The Democratic National Committee (DNC) will run campaign ads this Sunday (13) during NFL games in swing states, as the Vice President of the United States, Kamala Harris, seeks to reinforce her position among male voters.
The ads will appear at the Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders game in Nevada; in the Arizona Cardinals x Green Bay Packers game, in Wisconsin; in the Atlanta Falcons x Carolina Panthers game, in North Carolina; and in the Cleveland Browns x Philadelphia Eagles game, in Pennsylvania.
The DNC banners will say “Fire Trump’s Project 2025! Vote for Kamala!” and “Go Birds! Fire Project 2025! Vote for Kamala!”
Democrats are trying to link Donald Trump to Project 2025, a conservative group closely aligned with plans to radically overhaul the federal government and American life if the former president wins a second term.
Trump has repeatedly sought to distance himself from the conservative group’s plans. In July, the former president published that he knew “nothing” about Project 2025 and that “some of the things they are saying are absolutely ridiculous”.
Campaign effort
In the final weeks of the race, male voters are among the biggest targets of persuasion for Harris’ campaign, which seeks to undermine some of Trump’s advantage by spending tens of millions on TV ads at Major League Baseball games, football broadcasts college and football matches in key battleground states and beyond.
While Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, rarely discuss gender or the historic nature of their candidacy, the size of the gender gap could help decide the outcome of the November election.
The campaign is working to “explode the turnout ceiling among women,” an advisor told CNN International previously, and “find the most affordable men”.
