The next week will be marked by heavy rains in the southeast region, mainly in São Paulo and part of Minas Gerais. Assis Diniz, head of weather forecasting at Inmet (National Institute of Meteorology), in an interview with CNN, explains that “the zone is undergoing a convergence, causing significant rains until next Wednesday (2)”.
The expert warns that rainfall can reach 100 mm per day, which can leave the soil soggy in some regions, with chances of collapse.
Diniz also points out how the weather will be in the regions of Brazil over the next week: the center of Brazil will have good persistence of rain in Mato Grosso and Goiás.
“The northeast, on the other hand, will have rain in Piauí and Maranhão, with the possibility of advancing over the days to Ceará, Paraíba and Pernambuco; and the southern region will be in normal climatic conditions”.
