At least one person died later the big fire that broke out in the Evergreen Court Home in Rockland County, New York, as previously reported by Fox News.
Authorities evacuated the occupants, and according to NBC, the fire was so large that the second floor of the nursing home collapsed.
New York State Police Officer Steven Nevel said firefighters were on the scene trying to put out the blaze.
Two firefighters are among the injured. According to the nursing home’s website, the care unit could accommodate up to 200 people.
Update: These seniors were evacuated about an hour ago from the Evergreen nursing home in Spring Valley, they were taken to to the Golden Acre Rest Home at 11 Prospect Street in Spring Valley.
