Not long until one of the most anticipated moments of the year: the New Year’s Eve . There are those who classify the occasion as their favorite among the commemorative dates and always want to spend it in style. In the Northeast, for example, destinations that have become travelers’ favorites are concentrated: Alagoas, Bahia, Pernambuco and Rio Grande do Norte host parties that have become traditional every year and are prepared to welcome thousands of people from December 26th.

New Year’s Eve Amoré – Pernambuco

How to get?

Getting to Amoré’s New Year’s Eve will not be a difficult task. It takes place at Praia de Maracaípe, in the municipality of Ipojuca, in Pernambuco. The region is known for surfing and longboarding championships and is home to a small population – it is considered an extension of the coast of Porto de Galinhas (about 3km away). It is located approximately 60km from Recife airport. Car rental, private transfer, taxi or apps are easily found there.

New Year’s Eve Carneiros – Pernambuco

Réveillon dos Carneiros takes place at Praia dos Carneiros, in the municipality of Tamandaré, in Pernambuco, and is known by those who enjoy electronic music – but it also has other rhythms in its line-up. There are six parties until January 2nd with international and national names for a cultural and musical rite of passage, on one of the most beautiful beaches in Brazil, with white sand and coconut trees that run along its length.

How to get?

Praia de Carneiros is 90km from Recife airport, the journey can be done by taxi, transfer or car and takes around 1 hour to Carneiros, in the municipality of Tamandaré.

New Year’s Eve Thousand Smiles – Japaratinga, Alagoas

New Year’s Eve Mil Sorrisos takes place in Japaratinga, in Alagoas, well known for its lush natural pools. It is located just 10km from the famous Maragogi.

The program runs until January 2nd and features shows that will take place during the day and at night. Ivete Sangalo, Jorge and Mateus, Thiaguinho, Pedro Sampaio, Bell Marques are some of the confirmed artists (the complete line-up can be seen in this link). Dennis and Banda Eva will be the main attractions on New Year’s Eve.

At all night parties, the public will have access to the open bar. On the 31st, the service will be all inclusive, with unlimited drinks and food. How to get?

To get to Japaratinga, tourists have the option of disembarking in two cities and continuing their journey along the available land routes. One of them is to get off at Maceió airport, located about 115km away, and take a car, bus or private transfer to reach the location. The other is to disembark at Recife airport, located 140km away, which also has transport options departing from there.

New Year’s Eve Trancoso – Bahia

Celebrating 15 years, New Year’s Eve in Trancoso, Bahia, promises to maintain the tradition of recent editions. The parties called “Abracadabra”, “We Love Détraqué”, “Saravá”, “Pre-New Year’s Eve Oboé”, New Year’s Eve “Taípe” and Maracutaia take place from December 27th to January 2nd and are all open bar. The organization has not yet announced the musical acts, but tickets are already on sale. How to get?

A well-known tourist destination, Trancoso is located on the south coast of Bahia. The nearest airport is Porto Seguro, approximately 77km away entirely by land or 47km via ferry. Car, bus, taxi, car apps or private transfers passing through Arraial d’Ajuda or not, depending on the route chosen, are the available options.

New Year’s Eve Miracles

Réveillon dos Milagres was created in 2012 and 2013 and since then has become one of the most traditional in the Northeast – it didn’t just happen in 2021 due to the pandemic. How to get?

The ‘Rota Ecológica de Milagres’ is made up of three main municipalities in Alagoas: Passo de Camaragibe (14,763 inhabitants); São Miguel dos Milagres (8,013 inhabitants) and Porto das Pedras (8,419 inhabitants). The result of the union of these cities is the formation of 23km of beautiful beaches.

The two closest major airports are Maceió, 94.4km away (approximately 1h30), and Recife, 196km away (approximately 3h30). The tip for the end of the year and big holidays is to rent a car from rental companies close to the airport. It is also possible to pre-book a transfer that will meet you at the airport. It is worth mentioning that car apps do not make this route, so it is necessary to plan with these options, without considering them.

Let’s Pipa – Rio Grande do Norte

Let’s Pipa has been taking place since 2017 in Pipa, Rio Grande do Norte, close to the capital Natal. There, musical diversity speaks louder since its first edition and all rhythms will gain space. Dennis, Jorge and Mateus, Vintage Culture, Menos é Mais, Léo Santana, Gustavo Mioto, Pedro Sampaio, Mochakk are some of the names that will perform during the five-day event. The main attraction of New Year’s Eve will be the show by singer Thiaguinho. All night parties will be open bar, and the one on the 31st will have a special supper that seeks to please all palates.

How to get?

Praia da Pipa is in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, close to Natal (about 85km from the capital – 1h30 by car), and was born in a fishing village. With narrow access roads, the city has a limited number of vehicles.

Many companies offer a transfer service from Natal to there, which can cost R$400 for four people. There is also the possibility of taking a taxi or app-based car. The average price is R$250, but in high season, prices can vary a lot.
