Chinese electronics manufacturer Xiaomi launched its new 14 series smartphone, AI-enhanced and focused on photography, for international markets on Sunday (25), along with other devices.

The new Xiaomi 14 Ultra phone, which expands the company's partnership with German camera maker Leica, includes a quad-camera setup, while its more compact version, the Xiaomi 14, has a triple-camera setup, Xiaomi said in a statement. communicated.

The phones integrate large AI models into various applications, including a tool that allows real-time transcriptions of conferences, or another function that allows users to describe a photo so that the AI ​​​​finds it in its gallery.

Technology and telecommunications companies are launching new products and features ahead of the annual Mobile World Congress (MWC) event in Barcelona that kicks off on Monday, hoping the buzz around AI will boost business prospects, although many experts say that generative AI may raise legal or ethical concerns.

Last year, Xiaomi ranked third globally in terms of smartphone market share, accounting for 12.5% ​​of global shipments, behind leader Apple with 20.1% and Samsung in second place with 19.4% of market share, according to IDC.
