The first teaser of “Megalopolis”, new film by Francis Ford Coppola was released this Saturday morning (4).
“Megalópolis has always been a film dedicated to my dear wife Eleanor. I really hoped to celebrate her birthday together this May 4th. But unfortunately, that didn't happen, so let me share with everyone a gift in her name.”
Eleanor Coppola He died at the age of 87 on April 12. They had been together for 61 years and are parents of Roman Coppola (writer and producer of several Wes Anderson films) and Sofia Coppola (“Encontros e Desencontros” and “Priscilla”).
The new production of the mind behind “The Godfather” (1972) and “Apocalypse Now” (1979) follows an architect who wants to rebuild New York City as a utopia after a devastating disaster.
The plot stars Adam Driver (“Marriage Stories” and “Ferrari”), Nathalie Emmanuel (“Fast and Furious” and “Game of Thrones”), Dustin Hoffman (“Kramer vs. Kramer” and “Rain Man”), Shia LaBeouf (“Transformers” and “Iron Hearts”) and Aubrey Plaza (“The White Lotus“).
“Megalopolis” will have its first screening at this year's Cannes Festival, which takes place between May 14th and 25th, and competes for the Palme d'Or. The film does not yet have a release date.
