A new extratropical cyclone forms next Wednesday (4) in the south of the country. Although the phenomenon forms in the high seas and does not reach the coast, it will influence the weather in the states in the region.
The rain is already gaining strength again in Rio Grande do Sul, mainly in the central region of the state, this Tuesday (3). The same should happen in the western region of Santa Catarina. Thunderstorms with lightening and moderate winds are expected.
From Wednesday onwards, the rains will gain strength in the north of RS, in the center-west of SC and in the extreme south of Paraná.
On Thursday (5), the cyclone moves away from the region and heads towards the Southeast of the country, causing another cold front. The removal will cause the rains to cease in the south of the country.
In September alone, southern Brazil received the influence and impact of six extratropical cyclones. The dry period will be important for many cities that are still rebuilding after the recent floods and their consequences.
