New applications and modification of first aid applications for the earthquake victims of Crete

The application process is reopened for those affected by the earthquake of September 27, 2021 in the Region of Crete and wish to receive support through the platform arogi.gov.gr, according to the Joint Decisions of the Ministers of Finance, Development and Investment, Interior, Interior , Infrastructure and Transport, Rural Development and Food published in the Government Gazette (Government Gazette 2829, 2830).

Following this, the financial staff of the Government, with the contribution of the Independent Public Revenue Authority (AADE), announces the reopening of the electronic platform arogi.gov.gr for the submission of applications for support measures for the earthquake in Crete or the modification of the already submitted applications.

Please note that you can apply:

(a) earthquake victims who have not been able to complete their application;

(b) earthquake victims who wish to update or revise (even withdraw) their application after the completion of the inspection by the competent services of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, and

(c) affected by the earthquake located in the new areas which are included for the provision of first aid in exchange for housing assistance and for compensation of household goods.

The deadline for submission or modification of applications is June 14, 2022.

It is reminded that in parallel with the application for housing assistance or household goods, the applicants submit the relevant vouchers / documents from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport. These documents should also be submitted by those beneficiaries who had applied but had not submitted the relevant documents.

It is noted, once again, that the one-time emergency first aid for housing assistance is granted in exchange for housing assistance to the owners of buildings damaged by the earthquake. The owners then have to submit an application to the competent service of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, accompanied by the required relevant file, for the restoration of the building, in order to be considered beneficiaries of housing assistance for the repair or reconstruction of the affected building, with the issuance of the required administrative acts, in accordance with the provisions of the respective joint decisions of the Ministers of Finance, Development and Investment and Infrastructure and Transport, demarcation of the affected areas and granting housing assistance.

Accordingly, the one-off emergency first aid grant is granted as a counter-grant to non-profit corporations and non-profit-making bodies legally operating in materially damaged and materially damaged areas. their assets from the earthquake. It is reminded that the companies had the obligation to submit until 28.02.2022 all the necessary data to the state aid committees of the Region, for assessment and recording of the damages, according to the procedures of law 4797/2021.

It is emphasized that the amount of first aid against housing assistance is offset by the final amount of housing assistance to be determined by the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport, while the amount of first aid against compensation for business losses is offset by the amount of grant, as will be by the Ministry of Finance.

Both for the first aid against housing assistance, and for the first aid against a grant, but also for the first aid for compensation of household goods, it is pointed out that, in case the recipient of the aid is not finally considered a beneficiary or the amount he is entitled to is smaller, the return of the total amount or the excess amount to the Greek State. Respectively, in case of a false declaration, the amount of the aid is returned to the Greek State and the procedures provided for such cases are initiated.

The Government and the Ministry of Finance are proving in practice, once again, that they are responding effectively to the needs of our fellow citizens who are experiencing the effects of natural disasters.
