Netflix releases game like the episode of “Black Mirror”; look

The Netflix streaming platform launched the game “Bandoletes” in the catalog, inspired by the episode “Toy” of the seventh season of “Black Mirror”. The story, together with five others, debuted in the service in April 10th.

“Toy” accompanies game journalist Cameron (Capaldi), who, by guidance from his chief editor Colin (Poulter), serves as a “guinea pig” for a new video game, where the characters are controlled by users in the “Virtual Bichinho” style, popular in the 2000s.

Throughout the episode, Cameron begins to try to understand the virtual characters. It depends on hallucinogens to communicate with the so -called Thronglets and to acquire more sophisticated technologies to meet the growing demand for energy and memory.

Netflix users can also play with “virtual pets”. To do this, just type “bandits” on the platform and click “Download the Game”.

According to the director Charlie Brooker, “Toy” was inspired by a real event of his life.

“I remember having an Tamagotchi,” Brooker told Cosmopolitan magazine about the virtual toy that consisted of taking care of a digital pet. “It’s amazing how you cling to him so fast. I left him in the pocket of jeans, put it on the washing machine, boiled and died, felt a genuine remorse and felt terrible, as if boiled a living hamster.”

The filmmaker then thought it was a good idea to bet on the nostalgia of the toy for a new episode.
