Netanyahu will meet with Trump in Washington on Tuesday, says cabinet

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will meet with US President Donald Trump in Washington, DC, on Tuesday (4), confirmed the office of Israeli Prime Minister, making Netanyahu the first world leader to having a formal meeting with Trump since his inauguration.

The two leaders “will discuss Gaza, the hostages, the challenges imposed by all the elements of the Iranian axis and other key issues,” said Netanyahu’s office on Saturday.

In a precedent break, Trump invited several world leaders to his inauguration on January 20, including the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni. However, he has not yet had a formal meeting with any world leader since the beginning of his second term.

The confirmation of the meeting occurs hours after the last round of liberation of hostages and pallets under the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas. One Israeli-American and two other Israelis were released in exchange for the release of almost 200 Palestinian prisoners on Saturday (1st).
