Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today that he is backing his decision to appoint Lieutenant General Eli Sarvit News of the Internal Security Service (Sin Beth), following Washington’s reactions and a Republican senator. “On Monday, Netanyahu re -met with Vice Admiral Sarvit on the occasion of his appointment as the head of Sin Beth,” the Israeli prime minister’s office said. “He thanked him (…) who responded to the call of the duty but informed him that, after further thoughts, he intends to consider other nominations,” the statement added. Netanyahu’s decision to appoint Sarvit’s leader of Sin Beth had sparked a reaction to the government’s coalition MPs due to the political views of the Vice -Commander -in -Chief, who has participated in anti -government demonstrations against judicial reform.
